Vicoli sends you into the narrow alleys of the old centre around Campo de’ Fiori and Piazza Navona, and Scalinate climbs the city’s stairways, from the Spanish Steps up to the Gianicolo. The Tiber holds it all together: Lungotevere follows its embankments, and Across the Tiber crosses from the Ponte Milvio to the Ponte Marconi, past Castel Sant’Angelo.
