Munich walks best as a mix of the grand and the small. The Royal Avenues takes you down Brienner, Ludwig, Maximilian and Prinzregenten Straße, the avenues of the Bavarian kings, while Wegerl and Platzl hunts for the Bavarian diminutives, from the Platzl by the Hofbräuhaus to the Kramergaßl.

The Isar runs through it all. Across the Isar crosses its bridges from the Marienklausensteg to the Herzog-Heinrich-Brücke, and Off to Venice follows the Munich stage of the Dream Trail from Marienplatz upriver.
